AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is encouraging the public to provide input about a slate of proposed changes in hunting and fishing regulations.

AUSTIN, Texas — The expansion of one of the world’s most noxious aquatic weeds — giant salvinia — on Toledo Bend and possible spread to Sam Rayburn represents a serious threat to two of the state’s largest reservoirs, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department fisheries biologists.

TPWD Hosts Workshop About Managing Land for Wildlife

HOUSTON — Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will host its annual "Managing Your Land for Wildlife" workshop on March 12 and it will be at the Tracy Gee Community Center, (3599 Westcenter), here in Houston. The event, while open to any landowners, is aimed at area residents who own or manage rural property outside of Houston.

TPWD Preparing for 4th Crab Trap Cleanup

AUSTIN, Texas — Hoping to add to the pile of more than 15,000 lost and abandoned crab traps hauled from Texas bays during the last three years, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officials are gearing up for another round of cleanups, and this time the closed season is from Feb. 18-27. Weather-permitting, Feb. 19 is the day for the main volunteer cleanup effort.
